Tip #3 of the UFit Nutrition Atlas: Consume less processed foods

We currently live in an age where those delicious goodies you find wrapped in plastic and boxed by the dozen are not made by smiling bakers or elves in a tree, but by chemists in a lab. Highly processed sugars, salts, fats, and a plethora of additives have our population hooked. It is hard to say no because your body loves the momentary jolt of energy and excitement. The down side however, is indeed cascading and a danger to our health and wellness.

To keep up with the endless amounts of sugar that we are unknowingly consuming, our bodies produce an excess of insulin. Our bloodstreams are saturated with insulin. In turn, we develop metabolic syndrome, which leads to an increased potential for cardiovascular disease. This is the precursor to diabetes.

The abundance of sugars and preservatives in our system continues to cascade into the inflammatory response. We often cannot see the inflammation take place in our bodies as we do when we sprain an ankle, but it is there and it is making you miserable. The increased inflammation stiffens joints, ruins skin, disturbs digestion, and creates allergic reactions.

Those little moments are affecting us in big ways.  Watch the boxes and bags in your grocery store that are filled with white flour and sugar. As you can see, it is a dangerous combination that leads to continuance of health-related issues. We don’t want that for you. We want your body running smoothly and your wellness at its best!
