Tip #7 of the UFit Nutrition Atlas: Lean sources of protein are a must, every meal
Protein is so important for your nutrition and wellness. Protein sustains you longer, diminishing your appetite between meals while your body works hard to digest it. In return, you end up burning more calories. The great thing about meat as a source of protein is that it provides the complete amino acid chains your body needs for rebuilding cells. With increased consumption of protein and decreased concentration of carbohydrates, your cardiovascular system will benefit by lowering the bad cholesterol (LDL) and elevating the good kind (HDL).
We promote lean, clean meat with as few legs as possible. Animals that are free range, grass fed, pasture raised, or wild caught don’t have antibiotics or other chemicals in their systems that we absorb when consumed. Like us, animals living in the most natural state are leaner and healthier.
Remember to vary your protein sources between chicken, turkey, venison, beef, fish, and a plethora of seafood. Seek sources of protein with minimal mercury exposure.
